The chap that was the moderator of the day (owned the 2002 Tickford Ford)
amongst other things gave each of the car owners an opportunity to talk to
	the men that were there.

The demographic at the breakfast would perhaps
have been in their eighties except for the hummer, tickford ford, Ferrari,
	ss torana, M3, P76 drivers.

The old guys however were not ill informed, a	small group let me know that as I reversed into the car space my exhaust	smelt rather rich.

The usual cat calls, 'weren't enough 44 gallon drums for any more
P76's','those P38's' etc., etc. as I was asked to come to the small PA mike
	for my turn.

The men listened and most had heard of the Targa Florio but
did not know why it existed but all knew who Evan Green was.

They listened to my experience owning my first car as a P76 V8 and how good I found it	compared to what my peers owned at the same time etc.

I gave them a quick rundown on the P76 in the display and where it fitted into the 18007 cars	that Leyland Australian built.

One of the attendees was in the health department in NSW at the time of
	Leyland's demise.

He let me know that he had to take 20 6 cylinder cars.

When delivery day came only 8 of the 20 arrived.

	All the others broke down.

They used the cars for the longest journeys they could because they had to
keep them for 2 years or 40,000 miles.

He was impressed with the ones he	dealt with and had been very interested in my early experience with my first car.

One of the men who came through looking at the cars stopped with me for
	quite some time.

Back in the day he worked on them as a mechanic in a	dealership in country South Australia.

He is sure he has heaps of Leyland	Technical bulletins so he took my phone number and will call me if he finds	them.

All in all a worthwhile morning though I did leave at 11:30am to try and
	beat the rain.

I haven't opened the boot yet but nice to report the car
didn't fill up full of rain water as we did cop some until we got north of
	Beenleigh.

Hope that is a sufficient summary.

	Kind Regards,

	John G
