Queensland P76 Owners Club Inc. 2014

Club run into Ipswich

26th Oct, 2014

Hi All the members met at McDonald at Yamanto on the South side of Ipswich.
4 cars turned up for the run.

Richard was already enjoying a coffee as I met him at the enterance to Maca's. Not long after that Keith and Perdita arrived with Alan shortly after them. We enjoyed the treats at Macas then.

We were going to go to a dam near Boonah and then onto a farm to see vintage bikes racing. Unfortunately David our contact was sick and due to the small numbers we stayed in the Ipswich area.
We did the lap ofIpswich via Limestone St through One Mile then onto Brisbane St (the main street), then on up the hill towards were the Leyland dealer Jackson use to be before heading off to Alans place.
Alan indicated the building where he hopes to put on permanent display the wreck of his P76 http://www.leylandp76.com/clubs/qld/2001/hotrod2001.html.

and then visited Alan's place.

For lunch we decided to visit Queens Park at the top of Ipswich. The Park boasts a Zoo, Restraunt and parklands. Alan lead us to the Park and we pulled up near the crocket club. The area is very dry.
We shared a cooked chook, salad and buns which was supplied by Perdita. The shade of the Fig tree and the slight breeze was great.
A visitor with a Mopar hat came and checked out the cars.

Great day and thanks to Alan, Keith, Perdita and Richard for joining up with me.
Adrian
